Terms of Service

Important: These Terms are a clear consumer-facing description of how ShortPrep works. They are not legal advice. The operator should have qualified counsel review them before relying on them as a binding contract.

1. Parties & acceptance

ShortPrep (“Service”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Andrejs Zabarovskis (Latvia), an individual entrepreneur. The Service is available at https://shortprep.com.

By creating an account, verifying your email, purchasing a subscription, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Service description

ShortPrep provides browser-based tools for creators, including:

Features may be added, changed, or removed as the product evolves. We aim to keep the marketing pages and in-app tool list accurate.

3. Accounts & email verification

You must provide a valid email address and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.

New accounts require email verification before full freemium use. We may suspend or restrict accounts that abuse limits, share credentials, attempt unauthorized access, or violate these Terms or the law.

5. Subscriptions & billing

Free plan: after email verification, limited daily processing (currently 3 successful jobs per day). Limits may change with notice on the site.

Pro plan: unlimited processing for the subscribed period, currently priced at approximately €9 per month (or the price shown at checkout). Price and currency are confirmed on the Lemon Squeezy checkout page.

Payments: card payments and subscription billing are processed by Lemon Squeezy (Merchant of Record style). ShortPrep does not store your full card numbers. Lemon Squeezy may charge applicable taxes and issue invoices/receipts as required by their role and applicable law.

Subscriptions typically renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You authorize Lemon Squeezy to charge your payment method on each renewal while the subscription is active.

6. Cancellation & refunds

How to cancel: cancel from your ShortPrep Account page (when available) and/or via the Lemon Squeezy customer portal / emails from Lemon Squeezy. Cancellation is usually set to cancel at period end: you keep Pro access until the end of the paid period, then the plan returns to Free.

Refunds: refunds are handled according to applicable EU consumer law and Lemon Squeezy’s policies. Where you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you may have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts. For digital content/services, that right may be lost if performance began with your prior express consent and acknowledgment that you lose the withdrawal right once the service is fully performed (or, for continuous digital services, as defined by applicable law). We will not overstate your rights — if unsure, contact us and Lemon Squeezy promptly.

Billing disputes, failed checkouts, or “charged but not Pro” issues: use the site Report form or email us (see Contact). Include the email used at checkout and any Lemon Squeezy receipt ID.

7. Files & intellectual property

You retain rights to files you upload. You grant us a limited license to process those files solely to provide the Service (including temporary storage, conversion, and delivery of outputs).

Processed uploads are typically deleted automatically on a short schedule (often within about one hour for audio/image leftovers; sooner for many video leftovers). Do not rely on ShortPrep as long-term storage.

ShortPrep branding, software, and site design remain ours (or our licensors’). You may not copy or resell the Service itself.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant uninterrupted availability, that every input file will convert successfully, or that output quality will meet a particular professional standard for every file. Processing depends on file format, codecs, size limits, and server capacity.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ShortPrep and the operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption) arising from use of the Service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be limited under mandatory law, including mandatory consumer protections for consumers in the EEA/Latvia (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or other non-excludable rights).

Where liability can be limited, our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for Pro in that period, or (b) €50.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete or abandon your account at any time (cancel Pro first if you wish to stop renewals). We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, abuse, non-payment, legal risk, or prolonged inactivity. Provisions that by nature should survive (IP, disclaimers, liability, governing law) survive termination.

12. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence in the EU/EEA.

Consumers may bring proceedings in the courts of their place of residence where mandatory law so provides. You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform where applicable. Business users: Latvian courts have jurisdiction unless mandatory law says otherwise.
